Movie Call for Extras and Car Enthusiasts!
Silverton, CO is the site for a new movie called “Freak Power”. The production team is recreating Hunter S. Thompson’s run for sheriff in Aspen, CO in the 1970’s. They are looking for people and cars to help shoot the movie.
First, the movie is looking for about 100 extras. If you are interested in being an extra on the movie in Silverton, please send a head shot or selfie to the Four Corners Film Office at steph@scan.org. Along with the photo, include your name and contact information. People of every age are needed. The production team will contact the people they select. A date has not been set yet for the filming of the extras.
Second, one of the scenes includes a classic car scene. Therefore, there will be the Silverton Car Classic car show on September 23. They are looking for vehicles circa 1970. There will be prizes and lots of fun. The festivities kick off at 6 a.m. with a kickoff breakfast. There will be cash prizes for the “Perfect Patina”, the “Best in Show”, “Freak of the Street”, and “Best Bus”. The cars do not need to be pristine. For more information and to register your vehicle email: FreakPowerHQ@gmail.com. Just know – your classic car could be in a movie!
We hope to see a lot of Pagosa and regional cars and people in “Freak Power”. Additional questions can be directed to Stephani Burditt at the Region 9/Four Corners Film Office at steph@scan.org.
