Friday, March 5th, is World Day of Prayer 2010.  World Day of Prayer is an ecumenical celebration of informed prayer.  Join in the prayer service written by the women of Cameroon for families in need worldwide.  Their theme is 'Let everything that has breath praise God'.  This prayer service is at 11:30am.  Child care is provided.  This service is at Community United Methodist Church on Lewis Street.  Soup and salad lunch after program.  Bring salad to share.

MARCH 6TH - 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 - COMMUNITY CENTER -TCU-TEAM CAPT. UNIVERSITY

 
American Cancer Society's RELAY FOR LIFE of Archuleta County is holding it's TEAM CAPTAIN UNIVERSITY on Saturday, March 6th from 9 to 11:30 AM at the Pagosa Springs Community Center.  Anyone who is going to be a team captain for the RELAY....or who would LIKE to have a team.... is invited to come for some important training.  Captains will receive their kits, information about the Relay and the Luninary Ceremonies, and discuss fundraising & carnival ideas.  It will be a MAJOR brainstorming session!  If you have a team, or are planning to have a team, you will want to be there to "join the fight to celebrate, remember & fight back!"

03/06/2010 - Session 1 of a four week instructional program for ladies, geared towards beginner to strong intermediate levels. Session 1 of a four week instructional ski program for seniors, geared towards beginner to strong intermediate levels.  And the seventh race of the Fun Race Series! This free race is from 11:00-1:00 and open to skiers of all ages and abilities!

Habitat for Humanity welcomes the Harlem Ambassadors basketball show to Pagosa Springs.  The Harlem Ambassadors offer unique Harlem-style basketball, featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball-handling tricks, and hilarious comedy routines while serving as positive role models for youth.  All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County.

Kick Up Your Heels At This Year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 at 4:30pm

Line Up starts on 6th street (in front of Rainbow Gifts and Pagosa Game Space) at 3:45pm.

The Parade Route will start at 6th St. and Hwy 160 and will end at 2nd St. and 160. 

The Entry Fee - $3.17 / Entries are Due No later than Wednesday, March 10th, at 5pm.

 

Prizes Awarded For:

Best Float - $25 \  Most Green - $15  \  Most Bizarre - $15

 

Green clothing of some type is required!

Getting your friends to join in is encouraged!

Having a boat-load of fun is unavoidable!

The St. Patrick's Episcopal Church will hold their annual Shamrock Festival from 9am - 12pm, including a Garage Sale, Bake Sale and Book Sale and from 4 to 8pm we will have a Dinner and Silent Auction.   The Quilt Raffle will take place at 630pm.

03/20/10 - Bowl For Kids' Sake

Organized by Big Brothers Big Sisters

Bowl For Kids' Sake, the annual fundraising event benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters in Archuleta County, will be held at Sky Ute Casino and Resort's Rolling Thunder Lanes in Ignacio on Saturday, march 20, from 10am - 3pm.  Bowling teams of four  members each are asked to raise a minimum of $80 per player to be eligible to bowl.  All teams will ahve the satisfaction of assisting Big Brothers Big Sisters in providing special mentors for our children, while enjoying a fun outing with friends.  Prize drawings will be held throughout the day, as well as opportunitites to bid on great silent auction items.  Come and join the fun!

03/21/10 - Alternative Monthly Movie: ''Covert Ops Abduction Experiences''

We will show "Melinda Leslie & Niara Isley: The Reality of Government-Sponsored Covert Ops Abduction Experiences," which was a talk at the recent UFO Congress in Laughlin, Nevada, for which Niara Isley received a standing ovation. Niara will be present to answer questions and participate in discussion. A pot luck will follow for those who wish to stay. Free and open to the public, with donations being accepted to support Southwest Light and Learning Center.

March 22, 2010, 6:30 PM to 8 PM

March Audubon Meeting featuring Pat Gonzales from the U.S. fish & wildlife Service in Alamosa. He will tell us about the management of 3 wildlife refuges covering almost 120,000 acres in the San Luis Valley. He will also discuss the annual migration of thousands of Sandhill Cranes through this area and the Monte Vista Crane Festival, held March 12-14th. in addition, Beb Bailey, Weminuche Audubon board member/archivist will share a film and information on nest monitoring. 20 nestboxes will be distributed to chapter members for season monitoring.
